Not every email had to be replied!
Can you imaging how many emails they receive everyday?
If they have to reply to each email, means someone has to sit all day along just replying emails.
If this is the case, that means cost of hiring someone replying emails.
Therefore, IMO, their replies are selective based on what you are talking about.
