The HDMI stick is just a peripheral device meant to turn any normal TV into a computer-like streaming device without having to replace everything and this is targeting the digital signage market. Once all the TV's are internet enabled there'll be no longer any need for the HDMI device. The XTV platform does not depend on having that device as it can be streamed on a computer or notepad with smart phone interactivity. I don't know why they haven't made it smart phone enabled though.
