From my recollection, Ron Bakir was no well-intentioned good samaritan white knight...
He wanted to turn the Schapelle Corby story into a money-spinning business.
Not just publicity for his mobile phones...
He thought he could profit from the Schapelle name, and, if I recall, wanted her to, or had her, sign over beneficial rights to her name to him.
In other words, any money which could be spun from the book, the film, the tv interview-- whatever -- would go to Ron Bakir.
