No doubt - GWB avoided the draft and like so, so many others in the elite or wealthy class - opted for the Reserve to defend US in case of invasion by VietCong :)
A poor chapter in his life but he went down a road virtually everyone in his shoes travelled.
In fact the casualty rate in Vietnam clearly reflect the social and money strata in the US at that time
