From memory tax payments are paid in May, but I could be very wrong on this. I am not a tax accountant. The key is that they have to pay tax 1st to the ATO, only after that physical tax has been actually paid, can they pay any subsequent franking dividends.The ATO is the ultimate mafia, they run on 'cash accounting'. All listed companies run on accrual accounting for financial reporting. ATO haven't received the cash in their bank account, no franking!!!So the key will be the 4th qtr and Dec Year End, go to the notes, see if any tax was actually paid (not accrued, but paid). This will determine franking % for march dividend.
