Ask any politician or greenie what level of CO2 as a percentage of the earths atmosphere they would find acceptable and you will be met with a blank stare. The most naive of the alarmist "save the planet brigade" will say zero. In the absence of CO2 photosynthesis cannot function so all plant life would die out, followed by all creatures dependant on plant life for their existence. If such people were elected by an equally naive electorate to dictate government policy, it would mean the end of human existence. In their hast to justify their meaningless existence by supporting seemingly noble aspirations, few people are aware of the facts. CO2 comprises roughly 400 parts per million of our atmosphere, or a barely measurable 0.04%. The prefered level sought by horticulturists to maximise plant growth is in excess of 700 parts per million. If the pendulum swings as pendulums are wont to do, the day might come when our very existence is dependent on increasing CO2.
