To a point. The watchpoint is that russian coal is high calorific value that traditionally went to europe and jkc - areas that mostly import high calorific value and no longer take russian coal. Their ultra/super critical coal plants can't take much or any low cal coal.

russian stuff is now going to china and india (albeit in low'ish' amounts) that previously ran on lower calorific coal. I.e. this has caused a shortage of high cal coal (newc6000) with min ability to switch and displaced mid and low cal coal demand, hence low cal stuff isn't seeing same panic buying that high cal is getting. This is one potential reason for the large diff between the two price indices.
price is still enough to print cash, but not sure if we'll see api5 catch up to newc6000, that quality spread is staying stubbornly high
