re: Internally the Bill of Rights and the Constitution make the US a better place than most, especially with the growth and wealth that the US has enjoyed. Far from perfect and fairly inequitable, but nevertheless a human rights history to be proud of comparatively speaking.

Externally, the US has been crudely interventionist and affords no rights to foreign citizens and it's getting worse. The US has been moving to the right since the 70s. The rights of US citizens submerge the rights of other citizens.

Many people remember the US after WW2 when it was a land of hope and optimism. Not so any more.

If the world was heading for an international justice system affording equal rights to all countries citizens then and the Un was a truly independent thing not dependent on the US then no doubt more countries would be aligned and have a common goal, but while the US aims to control the world (who doubts that now??) the rest must be kept down.

We can be useful lackeys of the US and maybe pick up the crumbs but that's fundamentally wrong, as is the US push to dominate the globe by military and economic means.
