pinto, the spot in the middle is the 'eye'. inside it is a small window of calm weather.
Category 5 is not to be underestimated, slowly moving will mean longer periods of sustained high winds to those affected. It is remarkable how random and indiscriminate Cat 5 winds seem to be - those directly exposed (on a hill facing east) will know about it.
Looks like Innisfail/Tully/Cardwell will cop the brunt of it.
