I found the reference to “second life” interesting.....
Aprox 15 years ago there was an online platform that I recall being called “Second Life” (or something very similar). Interesting idea, but I had no idea how interesting that the concept could be. Japanese company I was working for at the time wanted to know if there was a way that we could create a presence where people would pay to attend a “room”. At the time I thought they were nuts, now I think that they may have been very forward thinking.....
Today my eleven year old daughter plays Roblox where individuals create rooms or worlds where users purchase content in the rooms (Robux).... Purchasing game content isn’t anything new. But the idea of purchasing content to be used in various games is. I really like the example of “renting” your creating whilst you are not playing is such a clever idea..... imagine if you could rent the character or eweapon of a top Esports gamer..... would that assist you to climb the gaming ladder...??
Again, very exciting space and interesting times we are living in ATM......
