Thanks snuff. I have studied termites myself too and agree with what you said. We have homemade baits too(Wooden spike hammered into the ground with pockets of termiticide in it) to help keep them away from the house. It is simply impossible to have a house near the water and not have to deal with termites IMHO. We were delighted to see the contract crash because of something so stupid. The plank of wood was near the back fence(colorbond steel) about 25 meters from the house.
