The notion of what short selling is by a few on this thread is by far and far ridiculous. Who the hell will buy those shares that don't exist?"

Nobbylad, where are these shares that a Naked short seller sells then? They don't own any shares, nor do they have an arrangement in place at the time of selling them to buy shares. Therefore can you tell me where these shares exist at the time they sell them?

And re your comments about distressed companies, I agree that shorting generally doesn't impact companies but in certain cases it can. And BNB is an example of a situation where it may have done - a major factor in its distress was shorters driving the price down to levels that triggered a default on its debts, meaning BNB had to try to renegotiate their debts in a a very unfavourable environment with the mere fact of the selling price dive probably also making the lenders even more nervous. We don't know for sure what would have happened had BNB not been driven down.
