The Italian solution sounds good to me!!


Unrest in North African countries has brought many problems to Europe � not only because a number of European countries have gotten involved in the Libyan war, but also because Europe is inundated with refugees. Moreover, this seems to be causing a growth of tension between European countries themselves.

Since the beginning of this year, refugees from Tunisia, and then Libya have been flooding Italy. Now, there are over 20 thousand illegal migrants in Italy � and the government is starting to officially recognize that Italy can�t cope with this problem without help from other countries.

"On March 30, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi visited the Lampedusa Island � the destination for most Italy-bound Tunisian refugees � and said that in two or three days� time not a single refugee would remain there. At that point, there were over 6 thousand refugees on the island � nearly twice the number of the local population. However, boats with Tunisian refugees are still coming to Lampedusa.

Then, Mr. Berlusconi said that the Italian government would give North African refugees temporary visas, with which they may go to any country of the EU".
