It is about 500km from Christmas Island to Indonesia, and there are a lot of various types of boats for sale, some a lot cheaper than this one.
IMO, our Govt should purchase a few as shown below, take the money from the people smugglers or forcibly from their accounts which would pay for their trip home to where they departed Indonesia.
Should be able to get a hundred or so on here, would be an enjoyable trip while it lasted, .... something my family and I have never been able to afford to do.
I think this could be a good investment for our Labor Govt.
At least they will have something for the money spent.
