Just heard on the news. Energy rating certificates for our houses proposed now now to pay for all the four star motels, and all the burned buildings( in the past and future).

If Bob gets his way, if you want to sell your house, $200.00 to get your house rated, and for every star bellow top rating it will reduce the price by an estimated $17,000.00 !!!!!!!

Real estate experts are warning a new federal government 'green scheme' for homes could cost sellers tens of thousands of dollars.

Under the proposed scheme homes being sold or rented would be given an energy rating, much like those on electrical appliances.

Vendors and landlords would have to pay $200 to have their properties assessed.

Experts say older homes and McMansions would very likely score badly meaning they would be worth less.
