The problem with previous meetings Peter is that the Houthis want no part of Resolution 2216. The UN went for an amendment last time where the port at Hodeidah would be given over to a neutral party but that too was refused.
Unless the Houthis are out of options I can't see a negotiated settlement that would be acceptable to both parties and comply with legally recognised procedures restoring a government after a coup attempt.
World media suggests peace is the answer but no one seems to be putting forward a workable method. If the coalition just stops the Houthis will take charge, raping and pillaging the spoils and destroying the very fabric of Yemen society. That would not be a successful outcome and would be worse for the Yemen people than the current war.
Right now defeating the Houthis seems to me the only workable solution.
