DOHA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th July, 2020) Yemeni President Appoints New Governor Of Main City In Country's South - Reports Rania Khalil 48 seconds ago
Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi issued a decree early Wednesday to appoint one of the leaders of the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) in southern Yemen,
Ahmed Hamid Lemlis, as governor of Aden, Al Jazeera reported. The decision to appoint a new governor for Aden was made amid Saudi Arabia's statements that the STC and Yemen's central government agreed to implement the Saudi-proposed new mechanism to implement last year's Riyadh agreement on reconciliation between separatists and the central authorities. The mechanism provides for the formation of a new government within 30 days with the inclusion of candidates from the south and north.
IMO This is one step across the great void. Say the Yemen government implements the Riyadh agreement, and Ministerial positions are evenly filled. Then there is a huge difference to the outcome of war as to which side of the Gov (Hadi vs STC) gets the important positions like Min of Interior or Defence. This portrayed nicely in twitter:
The Ministry of Agriculture will not be able to prevent the Ministry of Interior from any behavior in the south The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation will not be able to prevent the Ministry of Defense from relocating and stationing camps to the south in Hadramaut, Mahra, and Abyan
Anyway reads as if the Saudi's are moving forward with the Riyadh agreement.
