The incessant push for SSM by a minority group is no different to the screaming little kid in the supermarket wanting a toy or chocolate. Eventually the weak parent shows "no love" whatsoever and concedes, thus enabling further bad behaviours. As someone pointed out earlier, spare the rod and spoil the child.
