I'm finding it hard, Scott, to empathise with self-righteous sore loser democracy-hating ideologues post-referendum. They're not saying "it's a shame that we don't have a constitutional Voice"; they're saying "you No voters should be ashamed of yourselves for voting the way you did".
Greg Craven - genuine in his desire for improved outcomes for the disadvantaged - summed up the reasons for the loss in such a direct and incisive manner, that you would be hard pressed to think he was on the same side of the vote as these embittered power merchants.
Mayo, Langton, Pearson - all lacking objectivity and maturity. Yeah, blame the electorate, blame the Coalition, blame it on misinformation, blame colonialism, blame Democracy, blame the economy, blame it on Murdoch, blame it on Credlin....watch out Kamahl, because YOU'RE next.
Arrogance + poor model + lack of detail + opacity + disdain for history + deception + unfocused campaign + misunderstanding of Australian psyche = real reasons for the loss. Double shame.
