yesteday's market correction & upcoming platinum p

its now looking more like yesterdays dump was a market correction. I hope there aren't too many of you still with cold feet out there.

There's also been lots of press lately on asia and the 'upcoming automotive age'. In summary, this is where the average asian becomes wealthier and hence is able to demand more cars. With the problem of pollution in asia to combat, car makers will likely have no choice but to adopt a solution such as a hydrogen-driven automobile (whose waste product is water). Also platinum and palladium anti-smog devices will be increasingly incorporated.

As with Uranium, I reckon Platinum is an alternative way to play Asia's broad econ. upturn. Rather than finding a specific asian stock to invest in, why not invest in the many basic materials it requires (and many of these come from Australia). This will reduce stock choices to a select few and hence increase your chances of hitting a winner.

Quoting from an article just read, "this is a quiet time for precious metals"... ... I refer to the recent headlines of 'JBM - Aust's 1st platinum mine', JBM is obvioiusly interested in improving its single metals status with the recent stake in FCN and I think it will do well with it in the longer term.

    cheers,
    A.
