BG in all fairness to the Age, they did state that House prices rose 2.1% in March, where as REIV are stating a fall of 2.0% for the March Quarter.
Big difference though in Median property values:
- Age = 452k
- REIV = 524k
The Age are using RP data. Unless of course that the Age was using the REIV median for unit and appartments which are about the same.
This sort of stuff needs to be idepedently collected and quantified. Fines should be imposed on those that are caught submitting incorrect data with those caught continually breaching those rules would mean that they forfeit their real estate license.
Thats not so hard is it? But I guess implementing such a policy is not in the interests of maintaining the prperty bubble illusion.
