There was some writings in the 60-70's so grandfather says that spoke about the SW of WA becoming a desert and the NW of WA becoming a green field. He cannot remember what he read it in but does remember thinking of buying large tracts of land up that way to be ready for the greening of the north. BAck in the late 60's land was very cheap up the north of WA.
Nothing concrete, but who knows?
