I'm hoping you guys can help me with what I'm sure is a fairly silly question.
I've read most of the MTS posts and people mention MTS payout of 11.5c (likely payout or there abouts) as having a yield of around 9% I think it was (give or take).

However my calculations show different so clearly I must be doing it wrong but let me illustrate and please correct me.
$3,000 has purchased me 828 MTS shares (buy price 3.639)

    Now a 9% yield of 3,000 is 270

however 11.5 cents cashed out on 828 shares is $95

so........I'm not getting the 9% yield how people got 9% from that..?
