Sounds like you are working at AXM. My understanding is at SLR the experienced airleggers each have a young guy working with them who is being trained up at the same time.
SLR seem to have a good safety record, their equipment is suppose to be old as the hills (LHDs and boggers) but we dont hear of any problems with breakdowns so imagine they have a very good maintenance program, and drivers are not ripping and busting stuff.
I guess the big thing is a big part of the staff and managment are ex WMC so its going to be a professionally run operation.
Good observation by you to compare the two though one other thing SLR is not FIFO so that must reduce tension being able to go back to your own home at night.
