I wonder how many British arrivals were killed by our aboriginals or European arrivals by the north American indian. Clashes of race and religion have been and will continue to a great or lesser extent in countries around the world. Publicity of the deaths is what waxes and wanes. The daily death rate in South Africa probably exceeds the ME rate but it is not the popular area for the press at present.
