Ti Tree is a small town situated approximately 193 kilometres north of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway.
Much of the land surrounding Ti Tree is Aboriginal land, owned by the Anmatjera people. Their art can be viewed within the town and there are several interesting sites in the area surrounding the township.
The town serves as a service town to surrounding Aboriginal Communities. Ti Tree has developed with many modern conveniences to meet the needs and wants of locals and visitors.
The Roadhouse also acts as an orphanage for birds and animals including the Northern Territory’s national emblem features the Red Kangaroo and the mighty Wedge Tail Eagle.

FROM what i have read, it appears that Ti Tree has a history of sinking wells to gain access to 'sweet water' could they have found some mineral of some substance at one of these well sites?
