It may have escaped your notice but all of us currently in Australia are also "our own people" and the duty of care in this instance is to protect the relative safety we currently have . I don't care what anyones reasons were for travelling overseas , they ALL knew the possibility of borders being closed was a very real one but chose to go anyway ..... basically they rolled the dice and lost . I don't care about anyones background , whether they are 5 generation Australians or recently gained citizenship is totally irrelevant . Our country and our government currently have the virus about as controlled as it can possibly be and if they put that at risk then they are not only fools but culpable . The numbers of infected currently in India totals somewhere close to 20 million people and that is close to Australias total population ...... now twits want to bring people back from there putting every one of the 20+ million people in Australia at risk as well as our already battered economy . Sorry , but as far as i am concerned Australias current policy is exactly what it should be .
