I’d like to share your optimism (because I personally hate the idea that governments can control peoples movements).
But working in corporate, all the signs are pointing towards litte to none in terms of corporate travel. I know that’s only anecdotal but these anecdotal reports are from 3 ASX companies including a big four bank.
The messaging is that travel is largely banned unless you can get approval from roughly 2-3 levels of mgt above you (which no one is pushing hard for because no one wants to stick their neck out).
The other downside for travel Are wanker/woke corporate execs pretending to care about sustainability and using this as an excuse to spend less on travel for middle management.
