Greg Hunt says when it comes to the coronavirus vaccine, the Morrison government is aiming to under promise and over deliver.
The Health Minister said while the goal was still to rollout the first COVID-19 jabs in March, production, regulatory approval and logistics were all ahead of schedule.
“The Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is progressing well both in terms of results and in terms of its passage through the UK, US and European processes,” he said.“They have submitted additional data in Australia and we’re expecting the final data for consideration in late January to February, Pfizer should be complete during January.”
Mr Hunt said he spoke to the global health of AstraZeneca overnight to confirm 3.8 million doses of the Oxford University developed vaccine were on track to be delivered in January and February; with the remaining 50 million doses already being developed in Australia.
