A European acquaintance I knew some years ago used to collect vast numbers of common garden snails after rain from the gardens of the block of units he lived in.
He would drop them in a bucket filled with some solution to make them sick .... said it 'purified' them.
Next day ... escargot .... cooked and eaten.
But not for me .... no waaaay!
