If you are uncomfortable with margin loans don't use them.
What you are saying is like saying nobody should drive a car because they can go at over 100 km her hour. If you drive them at a safe speed it saves walking.
If you argument rests on a position that you cannot safely use a margin loan to buy units in GMG because the lender may stop lending against the security then perhaps you need to do a bit of homework and look at how to safely use a margin loan.
However I will assume you are taking a position based on taking no risks at all - if this is the case, don't buy stocks as the stockmarket may close.
