With regards to the calibre of HC posters;
Read through some of the posts regarding
record dates, or how a rights issue works, even an x divi date. Let alone something more confusing as how match up works, or the difference between pre open and a T/H.
there are some very knowledgeable posters but there are a lot of begginers and not so experienced investors on here as well.
I have no problem with someone using m/l to buy gmg shares, if they know the risks.
if you have $10000 to invest and only use $5k of it and the rest in a m/l then yes there is no difference. i would suggest that the inferance of m/l is so you can afford to buy more than what you would otherwise outlay (ie leverage up). so your $10k analagy is not relevent.
a better eg would be
Buy $10k for cash lose 25% therefore current value $7.5k
or
Buy $10k cash & $10k m/l, therefore you have lost $5k
or keep the investment size the same and see your percentage lose will be greater
you still have not answered me as to how does a single stock m/l reduce your risk?
