Under ASX rules you can't just deceide to delay an announcement because you don't think the market is in a receptive mood. Companies have to release the information as soon as possible after it comes to their attention. It's called continuous disclosure.
In any event, why would you be contemplating that bad news is coming. We have already seen the preliminary announcement from the Brazilian Oil Authority (which has to be the first to make market releases) and no doubt we will be getting a follow up from KAR fairly shortly.
Everything looking good, timing could not have worked out better IMO.
