Very nice story in WA today outlining a successful trial of solar + lithium batteries as a power solution for a regional community on the fringe of a larger power grid where outages were happening too often. Ticks every box, worked well and most importantly costs less than replacing/upgrading grid power poles & lines. Western Power have identified 3,000 sites that would be suitable for such an install and this would save around $300 million compared to upgrading the old grid poles etc in those areas.

3,000 targets for decent sized Lithium batteries in regional WA alone, extrapolate that across Australia, and then into other countries with even higher demand.
