Will stretch existing block caving technologies to their absolute limit.
Estimate over 1 billion tons at a grade of over 1.5% copper
Deposit measures 1800 metres long, 1500 metres wide, 200-450 metres thick
By 2015, Escondida and Bingham canyon will be in decline
Some rail infrastructure already exists
