Thanks for light-hearted contributions & for correcting my nick - given all the market turmoil I don't need an identity crisis as well.
I seem to be getting my head around some of the options (sic) on BHP's very big plate atm:
. Abandon the RIO takeover & accumulate its parts.
. Michelmore's offer of OZL on a plate while whistling Dixie - as he did with Olympic Dam & WMC.
. Bailout the combined USA & UK auto industries in an endeavour to re-ignite demand for iron ore.
. Sponsor ABC Learning - BHP could ingratiate itself to Julia Gillard & gain ETS concessions.
. Build a new SouthEast-NorthWest railway across Australia and a north-south water pipeline.
. Provide global economic advice to the G20 - IMO they sure need it!
