Apple just caught violating an injunction. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers just ruled against Apple in court. Judge ruled Apple willfully violated the 2021 Epic Games injunction by slapping a hidden 27% fee on out-of-app purchases and sabotaging devs from linking to external payments. It gets worse: the judge says Apple “outright lied” under oath and is sending the case to the DOJ for possible criminal contempt. “This is an injunction, not a negotiation,” the judge wrote. “There are no do-overs once a party willfully disregards a court order.”
