It's really quite bizarre, excluding cash, equities ought to be the most liquid asset class you can own. Yet in China it's the least. In fact it appears if you are a major SH (5%) or director, of any listed company, you simply can't sell - completely illiquid. Capital has been tied up for six months thus far, and then to be told there is no end in sight. What if you wanted to retire, or family member sick or in need, or lost your job, or found a cracker investment opportunity, or a million other legitimate reasons. Sell and you don't get to go home that night.
