Comments made earlier this year by Christine Lagarde ( this is the article I read a while back-https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/13/bitcoin-get-serious-about-digital-currency-imf-christine-lagarde-says.html) actually made me even confident in the IMFs stance on crypto, it's global potential is being recognised. Interference by regulators is quickly becoming a fading concern. I think government cooperation, not condemnation, is the future of cryptocurrencies.

What I was alluding to...
Lagarde didn't rule out that the IMF could at some point develop its own cryptocurrency. She pointed to the IMF's Special Drawing Right (SDR), a currency the IMF created to serve as an international reserve asset, that could incorporate technology similar to cryptocurrencies.
