I didnt realise the boss was away! You are right probably a good time to call. The navy guy i spoke to said that G. I. is controlled by the State, and National govs and Dep of Defence and Calm. Doesnt sound so easy. Tho somehow they have got it thru!
The Dep of Def control about 30 percent of the island which has a total of about 1200 htrs or so i am told. I remember going there as a small boy on my fathers cray boat and there was a really great hot water pool and Tamars which were a kind of small kangaroo special to the island. A really lovely place that is virtually off limits to the public nowdays. Greg the Carnegie man told me that the power out to G.I at the moment was around 8 M.W but he also said wherever development happens or will happen grid connection and upgrades are part of the equation wherever they will go. He was fully versed on wind and said that all the best spots for wind that are close to the grid have pretty much been snapped up. This is a big advantage for CNM being first in wave power. G.I is very close to Kwinana which is Perths main heavy industry area which our forefathers chose to locate S.W of Perth. The prevalling wind in Perth is a Sou Wester. But thats another story!Lol. The point being that there is seriously heavy duty power grid close to G.I Let us not speak again of our friend at Ch 9! May they become very wealthy and have many children Lol. And keep sending great stories about CNM.
