I have been into DIY electric vehicles since 2008 when I helped a friend convert his Ford Capri using lithium batteries. For years now I have been hearing about this wonderful battery technology that is just over the horizon. Or yes the technology exist but the U.S government aren't letting people get access to it, it's top secret. Every time you hear about this magic bullet there is a caveat that goes along with it. Yes we have a battery that does the range, but you can't afford it. Or it is affordable, but it has poor cycle life. Or the cycle life is OK but you can't charge or discharge it at greater than 1C. This presentation just wreaks of more or the same garbage hype. You know they are full of crap when they start sprouting garbage like you can charge it in 9 minutes.

Even people with the most limited mechanical / electrical knowledge should be able to see this just isn't possible unless you happen to live right next to a nuclear power plant and you have an extension cord running out to your car, and a cooling tower to cool down the battery. Simple fact is the greater the power you push into a battery the shorter the battery life will be, and the more heat you create. Most lithium batteries don't like to go above 45 degrees C before they start to degrade.

Then he mentions a kg of silver goes into every battery, whats that going to do to the price of the battery? Probably push it into unobtainium price range and no one is going to be able afford to use it. I have heard all of these claims before, but rarely do any of them pan out in the real world. I hope for all of our sake it does work, but I won't be holding my breathe.
