I have had contact with a person invloved in the oil indusrty through my employment-and have had discussions on peak oil - His view was that oil reserves stated can increase when the oil price rises to certain levels.
Being that when reserves which were previously uneconomical to extract become viable - this inturn increases the reserve and puts the concept of peak oil further into the future.
I dont know enough on the subject to say if this is true but its I sure hope it is. the consequences of peak oil may have unimagineable reprecussions.
