Ronraine are you embarking on a new career? I'll have to research this if you are really interested. You may already know this: Saproplite and weathered serp are nickel rich. Fresh serp contains about 0.2% nickel. Limonitic clay and saprolite are Cobalt rich. Iron (30%) in the hematite and limonite lithology.
My understanding is that JRV are trying to develop a process that will recover nickel and cobalt from all these lithologies, hence the difficulties. I presume that the iron will also be recovered.
