The left have always misunderstood what Australians want. Politicians have never really cared or wanted to understand real issues. They flap their gums with little regard for facts or intelligence. No country can afford to run an unsustainable immigration policy. It's a vote killer and debt-driving bad idea. Have reasonable immigration and most people are fine about it. Having record immigration during a cost-of-living crisis is not a good idea. Having this policy whilst you claim to want net zero just makes a mockery of reality. Its almost like their left hand ignores what their right hand is doing. Welcome to the dishonesty of politics. This is all about the govt claiming economic growth. 'Look at us, we are good economic managers'. The problem comes when you break that argument down and look at the social and financial stresses it brings with it. These politicians don't care, they are on indexed pensions and fat pay packets. They get perks and pensions for life whilst everyone else picks up the real costs of their flawed thinking. Albo has overseen two pay rises for Public servants. The govt invented, manufactured and delivered inflation. They are extremely good at getting bad ideas into public policy and extremely bad at getting good things done. Govts are our biggest cost. They need propping up and manufacture regulation that kills productivity and replaces it with bigger govt.
