I usually wait until the last week of the year, and then pick a number out of a hat.

I agree with gse though that the FTSE is a worry, as all the signs are pointing to further weakness on the DOW, but there is not much room for movement on the FTSE unless it drops out of the trading channel of the last 5 years. So if it stays inside the channel, are we then to believe that this correction is over ? It would appear that way, but if it drops below, it implies much further weakness.
