Sid the bible or Jesus does not answer the question directly so there is no specific scripture that answers your question.
But we are instructed to follow god with all our heart and mind so we are told that religion pertaining at least to Christianity is a rational thinking persons faith.
So without a direct scripture to use, the logical step is ask What do we know of God.
We know from the bible the nature of God is eternal and does not change. God is trustworthy and Just, so nobody will get done over if they never heard of the concept of God as we know it or heard the name of Jesus.
For my bit of evidence pointing to God is absolute morals.
If there was no mind prior to the human mind then all our values or morals would be relative. If there is no absolute moral law giver then it is just man who decides what is right and wrong. That to me does not gel with reality because we place importance and meaning in life and when evil occurs we rightfully say that is absolutely wrong. The perception of evil tells us this is wrong there must be another way....this again points to Gods existence.
