Yes Andrew that's plausible for the most part, but I would call that more of a 'softer' version of Option B. Call it B.2: I don't know what's gonna happen, hope for the best, but s**t i better get some money rolling in just in case. Hope it works out for SH's, but if not, well, that's their problem.
Sort of benignly delusional rather than evilly manipulating.. but as you say, a real danger nonetheless.
