Politicians of all persuasion are often wined and dined so that the self interest group can put pressure on govt in maintaining concessions (salary sacrificing, NG - which I title welfare for the rich) at the expense of mugs, who have mortgages to payoff, who are PAYG workers and often get screwed over by the pollies all round (i.e. bracket creep, levies etc etc)
