All indications point to the fact that Woodside got a brilliant contract with COP for the price of 350 million but at the beginning of the year when POO was around $26 a barrel and the 2c was only 330. Woodside was quite cheeky in stating they got it for $2.20 a barrel as an the time they made their offer it would have been higher. The fact is the 2c had grown up to the time they announced the contract (and will again) but all COP can get from Woodside is 80 million to cover costs which has already been announced.
So far Woodside has gotten a brilliant contract. now we wait to see if the other JV partners can get the funds as they are cash strapped or if another major becomes interested.
