UK current policies and strategies on energy is very strange and a bit of a flip flop. It put in and continues with policies it knows won't achieve its net zero or emission targets and neither it will achieve lower price or security of supply. One has to wonder why it follows paths that won't achieve either goal namely emission reduction and affordability and security.
A bit like its policies on shale gas. It won't ban outright but won't let it go forward.
